Leicester City were held to a 0-0 draw at Watford in the Sky Bet Championship
Although a point in the right direction, Caleb Okoli was frustrated not to seal all three at Vicarage Road
The Italian defender paid tribute to over 2,200 Foxes fans who made the trip to Hertfordshire to back the team
Leicester City had the better chances in Hertfordshire on Saturday, including Patson Daka’s saved penalty, but were unable to cut through and seal a much-needed win.
Still with a point on the board for their efforts, there were positives, including a clean sheet, but there is need for wins – and soon – in the battle for Sky Bet Championship survival.
“We had a great performance in general, a great squad performance,” Okoli said afterwards. “I think we are a little bit disappointed because we didn’t take our chances.
“[The clean sheet is] not something that we are taking for granted because it’s not been easy this season, so a clean sheet is always a good thing to have and we keep going like this.”
City were boosted by the appearance of Jamaal Lascelles in the starting XI, with the former Newcastle United centre-back bringing experience to the backline.
“He’s such a wonderful player with such experience,” Okoli added. “I can only learn from him and I’m learning a lot in these last weeks being around him. We’re all happy to have him here. He’s a great player.”
On the travelling Foxes faithful, who travelled in numbers, he continued: “We had all of our fans here who were supporting us, so we’re very glad they came and they pushed us today, but we’re a little bit disappointed for not taking our opportunities.”
