An early Janina Leitzig own goal separated the two sides at Gaughan Group Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as an injury-hit Foxes side just could not find a route past a resolute Lilywhites defence.
Scoring league goals has been the Achilles heel of Amandine Miquel’s side in recent months, but after finding the net four times in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, Thibaud is confident that things will turn around soon.
The French defender has made nine WSL appearances so far this term.

The defender commented: “It was a good performance from the team, we had a couple of chances but unfortunately, we couldn’t push the ball into the back of the net, but we will just keep working on it and hopefully in the next game we will score some goals and get some points.
“We have a couple of injuries, but we will just keeping working in training. It’s never easy, but injuries are part of the game, part of football. We are working very hard and the main focus is to score goals. Now we just need to do that in the game.”
Having picked up a draw against league leaders Chelsea in their previous home fixture on Filbert Way at the end of last year, she believes that there is plenty of optimism around the camp heading into Sunday’s clash with Liverpool.
The 26-year-old explained: “I think we’ve improved a lot since September so we just need to keep working as a team. That’s what we will do and I’m sure it will be fine for the next game. Of course, we keep working on it and if we create chances then we have opportunities to score, so that’s the first step.

“The second step is for us to score. The main message is to score goals and then we will get some points. We know that we can get some points against any team in the table. We saw that against Chelsea before Christmas.”
Replacing Sari Kees in the backline in a late change to the weekend’s line-up before kick-off, Thibaud was awarded the Player of the Match award after an impressive performance at the heart of the defence.
The French centre-back added: “I was not expecting that but as a player we are always ready so I was ready to go for it to help the team as much as I could and I think I did that today.”
