In the past decade, the Foxes have played Wolves in three separate competitions, winning twice, losing twice and emerging victorious on penalties following a goalless draw in the Carabao Cup.
Both outfits have recorded some memorable victories over the years, with City scoring 10 goals in just two games against the West Midlands outfit in 1983 (5-0 and 5-1), while an incredible 7-0 triumph came in 1923, when Albert Pynegar scored four times.

A seven-goal thriller in the last meeting between the two sides resulted in Wolverhampton Wanderers claiming all three points. The Foxes managed to recover from a two-goal deficit following an effort from Demarai Gray and Harvey Barnes’ deflected strike, but Diogo Jota’s second of the game put Wolves back in front. Skipper Wes Morgan looked to have secured a point from the encounter with a goal three minutes from time, but Jota completed his hat-trick in injury time to seal a 4-3 win for the hosts.

A brilliant performance from City ‘keeper Danny Ward saw City advance to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 win on penalties at Molineux Stadium. Following a goalless draw, Wales international Ward saved spot-kicks from Romain Saiss, Diogo Jota and Adama Traore, with Benny Ashley-Seal the only man to beat him from 12 yards. Rachid Ghezzal, Vicente Iborra and Kelechi Iheanacho all converted their penalties to set up a tie with Southampton in the next round.

City’s first home game of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign resulted in a 2-0 win thanks to an own goal from Matt Doherty and James Maddison’s well-placed finish. While Wolves hit the woodwork early on through João Moutinho and Raúl Jiménez, City went ahead before doubling their lead on 45 minutes. Although Jamie Vardy was dismissed in the second period, the hosts stood strong to grind out a triumph in difficult circumstances.

City’s 2-1 win in 2013 proved to be a fifth-straight Championship victory following triumphs over Burnley, Huddersfield Town, Bristol City and Middlesbrough. Anthony Knockaert’s eighth goal of the season was cancelled out when Bakary Sako converted from just outside the box. However, David Nugent was on hand to convert from distance to win it for the Foxes on Filbert Way.

Earlier in the 2012/13 Championship campaign, Wolves recorded a 2-1 triumph over City after two goals in the first half put them in a commanding position. Sylvain Ebanks-Blake turned in Bakary Sako’s free-kick before former Fox Richard Stearman doubled his side’s advantage with a powerful volley. A 35-yard stunner from left-back Paul Konchesky halved the deficit, but the visiting outfit couldn’t find an all-important leveller.
