Slimani Set For AFCON Final With Algeria

Islam Slimani could feature for Algeria this evening when his country take on Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations Final in Cairo.

Cairo International Stadium will the venue for the encounter, as Slimani and his international team-mates look to add to their 1990 AFCON title.

The Leicester City striker could come up against a number of Premier League players including Liverpool’s Sadio Mané, Crystal Palace midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté and Everton’s Idrissa Gueye.

Slimani, 31, has scored once in this summer’s tournament, against Tanzania, and also set up a further two goals in that game before converting from 12 yards during the shootout win over the Ivory Coast.
