Eleven Foxes Confirmed For Loan Spells Away From King Power Stadium

With the summer transfer window closing last week, LCFC.com profiles the players spending time away on loan from King Power Stadium during the 2019/20 season.

- A total of 11 players will spend time away on loan from Leicester City this season
- Long-serving midfielder Andy King joined Rangers in the Scottish Premiership
- Islam Slimani has made an impressive start to life at AS Monaco, scoring three goals in his first two Ligue 1 games
- Josh Knight and Ryan Loft have scored their first goals at senior level with Peterborough United and Carlisle United respectively 

In total, 11 players departed the Foxes on loan during the summer, including long-serving midfielder Andy King, who joined Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

King, who has won the Premier League, Championship and League 1 titles with City, made his debut for Steven Gerrard’s side in a Scottish League Cup clash at East Fife before making his league bow in a 1-0 win at St Mirren. 

Islam Slimani and Adrien Silva recently penned loan deals with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, with the latter re-joining the team he spent the second half of the 2018/19 season with.

Algerian striker Slimani has made a positive impact in France, scoring once against Nimes and netting a brace away to Strasbourg, fixtures Silva started.

Also spending time in Ligue 1 this season is Fousseni Diabaté, who joined SC Amiens on the final day of the window, while Rachid Ghezzal moved to ACF Fiorentina in Italy, making his debut in a 1-0 friendly victory over Perugia last Friday. 

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Daniel Iversen signed for Rotherham United in League 1, while midfielder Josh Knight returned to Peterborough United and winger Layton Ndukwu moved to Southend United.

Denmark Under-21s international Iversen has made five appearances in all competitions for the Millers so far, with Knight playing seven times and scoring his first senior goal for Posh during their recent 3-0 home league win over Sunderland, while Ndukwu has also featured on seven occasions for the Shrimpers.

In League 2, striker Ryan Loft registered his maiden Carlisle United goal in their 1-0 win against Scunthorpe United on Saturday 31 August. The 21-year-old has played eight times to-date in all competitions for the Cumbrians.

Salford City secured the services of Sam Hughes on deadline day, with the defender making his debut for the club in a 2-2 draw away to Morecambe last Saturday. 

Finally, Kamal Sowah is enjoying a bright start at OH Leuven in 2019/20 by helping his side to four league wins out of their first five games, and netting his first goal in a 4-0 victory at home to K.S.V Roeselare over the weekend.
