LCFC Training Ground is one of the host venues for this year’s Premier League Next Generation Cup, which includes participation from the Leicester City Academy.

Part of a long-standing partnership between the Premier League and Football Sports Development Limited, the international tournament is designed to support the development of football in India.

The eight-team competition features five Premier League clubs’ youth teams, one academy side from South Africa and two Indian teams.

Midlands Group A kicked off on Wednesday, with City facing Hero Indian Super League outfit Bengaluru FC. It was a successful start for the young Foxes too, as Chris Popov hit a hat-trick alongside Kian Pennant's brace and a solitary effort from Will Alves sealed a 6-3 triumph in Seagrave.

On Saturday, the third/fourth play-off between Nottingham Forest and Bengaluru will commence at 10am, ahead of the showpiece final at 1pm, as Leicester take on South African outfit Stellenbosch.

Elsewhere, several community visits will take place around the Leicestershire area throughout the week, with appearances from Leicester City Development Squad players, alongside mixed coaching sessions taken by Foxes coaching staff.

The international teams will also enjoy a tour of the training ground during their visit as the Club opens its arms to visitors from across the globe. Make sure to check back to LCFC.com and @LCFC on social media for more from the Premier League Next Generation Cup over the coming days.
