Danny Simpson has called for Leicester City to maintain their fine run of form following Saturday’s Premier League victory against Burnley.

- Danny Simpson says Leicester City are bursting with confidence following a productive string of results
- In eight days, the Foxes accumulated seven points following clashes with West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley
- Simpson wants his side to focus on the upcoming block of matches, with Newcastle United next up on Saturday (5:30pm kick-off)

The Foxes, thanks to Demarai Gray’s early effort, beat Sean Dyche’s men 1-0 prior to two testing trips to Newcastle United and Southampton.

And with one defeat in their previous 10 games in all competitions, Simpson believes his side have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks.

“We want to keep it going now,” Simpson told LCFC TV. “It’s confidence and momentum, especially in this busy period in December. To get a point at West Ham and then two wins, it’s been a good eight days for us.

“We’ve got two away games coming up and they’ll be two tough games. It’ll be important to have a few days off now, because I think after that, games are every three or four days.

“This is our week to get ready for that run of games and hopefully we can keep this momentum going, keep pushing up the table and getting those points.”

Consecutive victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley have propelled Claude Puel’s men to ninth in the Premier League table, just five points off sixth place.

He continued: “It’s always good to get back-to-back wins, especially at home. When you’re at home, you want to use it to your advantage.

“They were two tough games – both teams were very different in the way that they play, but credit to the lads because it’s good to get six points in such a short space of time.

“Burnley are a completely different team to Tottenham. Burnley have changed their style this season. They’re still a bit direct, but they can play as well.

“It was great for the lads though, because it’s always good to get an early goal. We felt like if we got a clean sheet today, we’d win.”
