Claude Puel has confirmed that Vicente Iborra is likely to be sidelined until the end of the 2017/18 season with a hamstring injury.

- Midfielder Vicente Iborra may miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury
- Claude Puel says he is looking forward to seeing Hamza Choudhury in first team action once more
- Ghana international Daniel Amartey is nearing a return following a hamstring complaint

Leicester City head to Burnley on Saturday without the Spaniard while Matty James (Achilles) and Wilfred Ndidi (suspension) will also miss the encounter (3pm kick-off).

Iborra was substituted before half-time at King Power Stadium during City’s 2-1 defeat by Newcastle United last weekend, replaced by Academy graduate Hamza Choudhury.

“Iborra is an injury to his hamstring,” Puel said on Friday. “He will not be available for the rest of the season. We are unlucky about our midfield in this moment, with James and Wilfred too.

“I have confidence with [Adrien] Silva, of course, and the young player, Choudhury. It’s a good opportunity to start the game and to play with the first team.

“He is a good player and he has the confidence of all his team-mates.”

Ghana international Daniel Amartey, meanwhile, is nearing a return to action after sustaining a hamstring injury during City's 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth in March.

“Amartey is coming back slowly,” Puel added. “He is always in the gym and hopefully he can come back on the pitch next week.”
