The Foxes host the Tractor Boys at King Power Stadium for a 3pm kick-off on Sunday and will have largely the same squad available to them for last weekend’s draw at Nottingham Forest.

“There’s no news on last week’s squad and team news,” the Manager told the media on Friday morning. “It’s the same.”

There is a chance that Ricardo could play a role, although the Portuguese will be monitored in Seagrave over the coming days to judge his match-readiness.

“Ricardo is actually one that, today and tomorrow, we can have the final view on him to take him into Sunday’s game," van Nistelrooy continued.

Van Nistelrooy has given First Team opportunities to a number of Academy players over recent weeks, including 15-year-old winger Jeremy Monga.

The Premier League’s second-youngest debutant nearly became its youngest goalscorer last weekend when Monga went close in the latter stages at the City Ground – and the Dutchman has been delighted with his progress.

“They are given opportunities,” he said, on the young stars who have appeared. “He made his fifth Premier League appearance. You can see him growing into that.

“He’s a young lad who has to adapt also to the environment he’s playing in. Against Forest, I saw his best performance in the sense of impact in the game.

“He had some crucial dribbles and also hold-up play, where he made the team get higher up the pitch. Of course, his chance to win the game, it’s impactful moments.

“It’s part of the experience he’s building over the matches and First Team training in a regular sense.”
