Academy Stadium is the venue for a 2pm kick-off at the Citizens' home, with both sides aiming to get up and running with their first points in the WSL.
Ahead of the game, take a look at all the information to know about the teams…
The Foxes camp
Beating Blackburn Rovers 3-0 in the opening fixture of the FA Women's Continental Tyres League Cup group stage was a confidence boost heading into the international break, with Mackenzie Smith, Connie Scofield and Aileen Whelan all on the scoresheet for the first time in a Leicester City shirt. In the league, however, Leicester have struggled, with three defeats from three, including a last-gasp 1-0 defeat at Everton in their first away game last time out. The opposition
Gareth Taylor's side finished third in 2021/22, nine points behind champions Chelsea, who beat Man City in the Vitality Women's FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium after extra-time.
Silverware was added to the cabinet as the Citizens lifted the FA Women's Continental Tyres League Cup trophy, defeating Chelsea 3-1 to claim the prize for the fourth time in history.
The Blues got the better of Man City in their last league game, winning 2-0 at Kingsmeadow, while Aston Villa came out on top 4-3 on the opening day of the season.
The squad
A host of experienced names left Manchester in the summer, including both Keira Walsh and Lucy Bronze to Barcelona, Caroline Weir to Real Madrid and Georgia Stanway to Bayern Munich. Fellow Lionesses stars Ellen White and Jill Scott announced their retirements, while young winger Jess Park was loaned out to Everton.
The likes of Lauren Hemp, Chloe Kelly and Alex Greenwood - who all played a pivotal role in England's UEFA European Championship success over the summer - remain at the Club and are just some of the world-class talents Man City have at their disposal.
Several new arrivals have joined the squad, with goalkeeper Sandy Maciver in from Everton, Atlético Madrid Deyna Castellanos and Laia Aleixandri, Leila Ouahabi from Barcelona, Australian youngster Mary Fowler from Montpellier, Kerstin Casparij from FC Twente and Yui Hasegawa from West Ham United.
In the dugout
Taking over from Nick Cushing in May 2020, manager Gareth Taylor won his first trophy as manager six months later, lifting the FA Cup after a 3-1 victory over Everton in the final at Wembley Stadium. The Citizens narrowly missed out on the WSL title that term, though, while another cup success came in March 2022, beating Chelsea in the League Cup Final.
Representing the likes of Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Wrexham and Manchester City during his playing days, the former Wales international racked up 575 appearances and 142 goals throughout his domestic career. Taylor began coaching at Man City in 2011 and he became academy manager five year later.
Last time out
The corresponding league fixture last season saw Manchester City claim a 4-0 triumph in April 2022, while it finished 4-1 at King Power Stadium in November 2021. Jess Sigsworth handed the Foxes a lead inside 60 seconds, though the visitors roared back to win.
The teams also met in both cup competitions, with a 6-0 home win for the Manchester club in the FA Cup, followed by a 5-0 scoreline in the League Cup.
