- Leicester City drew 1-1 with Watford at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Saturday- Brendan Rodgers was delighted by the nature of Ben Chilwell's excellent opener in Hertfordshire- Craig Dawson rescued a point for the Hornets in the behind-closed-doors fixture- Rodgers also looked ahead to a big week for the Foxes, with two home games on the horizon
The behind-closed-doors encounter at Vicarage Road concluded in dramatic circumstances as Ben Chilwell netted a 90th-minute stunner, before Craig Dawson's acrobatic equaliser.
However, Rodgers believes there were plenty of positives to draw from City's first competitive outing since 9 March's 4-0 victory over Aston Villa - particularly the quality of Chilwell's third goal this term.
Asked if he was surprised to see the Foxes full-back go for goal, the Northern Irishman told LCFC TV: "No, I expected him to shoot.
"We had said to him in the drinks break, he'd had an opportunity just before that, where it came to him on the edge and he passed it wide.
"We actually said to him: 'Listen, shoot'. So, that was his next opportunity, and it came to him from a great pass by Demarai [Gray] and it was a nice touch and finish.
"It was worthy of winning the game, and that's obviously the disappointment from his perspective, but a wonderful strike."
Rodgers also revealed that the newly-introduced drinks breaks - incorporated due to the summer climate - actually helped in a number of ways as they provided a chance to talk tactics with his players.
"It's good because it was very hot, very humid today," the 47-year-old added. "So, I felt that for the players, sometimes they can break the flow.
"But, I think at this moment, it worked well for them, but also gives you a chance to get on some tactical information and like I said, just address some issues in the game."
Leicester now face the prospect of two home games in a week, first tackling Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Tuesday (6pm kick-off), before an Emirates FA Cup Quarter-Final against Chelsea on Sunday (4pm kick-off).
However, Rodgers has few complaints about the nature of City's schedule: "We don't have any qualms. The perfect scenario would've been Wednesday, but it's what we've been drawn, so we accept that.
"We'll recover now for the next couple of days and get ready. So, it's going be important for us, for all the players, that availability.
"And, like I say, they've come through well today and now we'll get ready for a really important game for us to look to get three points in."
