- LCFC Women are back in action on Sunday, facing Charlton Athletic Women at The Oakwood (2pm kick-off)- The Foxes, who sit atop of the FA Women's Championship table after nine games, face bottom-of-the-table Charlton- City have won their last three in the league and progressed into the quarter-finals of the Continental Cup in midweek- Manager Jonathan Morgan has been pleased with the recent form but knows the team cannot let up in their approach
Fresh from a midweek penalty shootout victory, which saw the Foxes through to the quarter-finals of the Continental Tyres League Cup, they return to FA Women's Championship action at The Oakwood.
City head to the capital to face a Charlton side without a win in five and desperate for points, sitting 11th in the standings, while City are aiming to stay in the top spot they claimed after beating London Bees in Quorn last weekend.
Morgan is eager to see Leicester pick up where they left off in the league and record a fourth consecutive Championship win, as the newly-professional outfit continue to build momentum.
"Sunday was just a great squad performance from everyone," he said of the 3-0 win over the Bees. "I think the girls who started were fantastic, the girls who came on did exactly what we wanted them to do, they were fantastic.
"And the girls who didn't come on, they were obviously there with their support and pleased for the girls."
LCFC Women's manager is adamant that Charlton's league position does not mean City can take the game for granted and knows they must recover quickly from a gruelling 90 minutes of midweek action against Birmingham.
Morgan named an unchanged team for the midweek trip to Solihull but may call upon more members of the squad for this, the latest away trip in a busy pre-Christmas schedule.
"Lots of recovery [will be needed]," the manager added ahead of the 2pm kick-off. "I think it would have taken a lot out of the girls.
"It was a very, very high tempo game, it was a very, very tactical game and also very mentally draining, I'd say, on the girls.
"So we've got to get back in shape ready for Sunday as Charlton are going to be ready to take us on.
"Obviously they're looking to get points at the bottom of the table at the minute, so you can never underestimate a team in a relegation fight.
“So we'll be ready for it, we'll go back, do our things and hopefully get three points on Sunday to make it six wins on the bounce."
