Over this intimate, hour-long feature, our cameras follow Abdul’s return from an ACL injury – a gruelling eight-month journey defined by patience and perseverance. Known for his infectious upbeat personality, there are moments which put even Abdul to the test over those long winter months, leading to a triumphant Foxes return this summer.
“This has been the hardest experience of my life,” Abdul reflects during the latest Foxes Hub Originals documentary, which will be available to all City fans at 8pm on Friday 31 October. “I’m ready to do everything to be stronger.”
That determination to make up for lost time is a thread which runs throughout the filming. With the unwavering support of our expert medical staff, he rebuilds not just his strength, but his confidence, ready to return better than ever.
The cameras also step away from the Seagrave corridors, offering a unique perspective of Abdul’s life outside of the game. From sharing Iftar with fellow worshippers at King Power Stadium, to an emotional homecoming in Ghana, the documentary shines a light on his roots and what continues to drive him forward.
From Accra to Tamale, surrounded by friends, family and young local footballers, Abdul reconnects with his beginnings and rediscovers the joy that fuels his passion for the game, a powerful reminder of why he fought so hard to return to full fitness.
The journey builds towards his long-awaited comeback, a summer reunion with his team-mates in Austria, his first touches of the ball in pre-season, and then that euphoric moment – stepping back onto the pitch in Leicester blue against Sheffield Wednesday. From there, the goals, energy and excitement have flowed once again, as Abdul reclaims his place among the Foxes’ attacking stars under Martí Cifuentes.
