Jordan Ayew returns following suspension as Wout Faes comes back into First Team training
Ruud van Nistelrooy also provided an update on Kasey McAteer and Mads Hermansen during Thursday's press conference
Leicester City start the new year with a short trip to Villa Park, where they'll be met with a strong opponent, currently chasing a spot in next season's European competitions.
During Thursday's press conference, the Dutch Manager provided a positive update on his squad, announcing both Ayew and Faes could be available for selection this weekend, while winger Kasey McAteer continues to train individually for the time being. City will head to Villa Park with the returning Jordan Ayew, who has four goals this season.
"We're looking to have Jordan Ayew back following suspension, which will help us," van Nistelrooy announced to the media. "Wout Faes has been training individually but joins back up with the squad today so we're hoping to have him as an option again soon.
"Kasey [McAteer] has been doing better also. He's training individually at times so he's not fully with the team. Saturday will be too soon but we'll hope to get him back in full training next week to hopefully be available against QPR."
One absentee that has certainly been missed for the Foxes is Danish shot-stopper Mads Hermansen, who the former Manchester United striker admits won't be available for another few weeks at least, but is confident he will come back stronger. The Manager provided an update on the fitness of Mads Hermansen.
"Mads [Hermansen] won't be available," van Nistelrooy confirmed. "He's been assessed over the last week and he's currently going through his rehab programme, so that we make sure he comes back as strong and safely as possible.
"I'm not sure how long we will continue to be without him, but it will be a couple of weeks at least."
