Knowing already that we’ll play in Sky Bet League One next term, following back-to-back relegations, we head to Ewood Park to close out a hugely disappointing season.
And Rowett, who took over in February, spoke to the media on Thursday to preview Saturday’s 12:30pm BST kick-off in Lancashire.

‘Paid to do a job’
The Manager has called on the players to approach the fixture with a professional mindset, with three points and pride still on the line despite the season’s outcome.
He told reporters: “The message, for the last two weeks of the season, has been: we have to be professional, make sure we do the right things.
“We’re paid to do a job. We should go and enjoy that job and embrace that job. We’re very fortunate to be in a Championship game, even if it’s one more game.
“Even if we’ve been relegated and the end to the season isn’t what we wanted it to be, we still have to go out there and perform as well as we can.”

‘Work hard’
With the Blue Army again set to travel in numbers, Rowett wants to see that support rewarded with a performance against Blackburn.
“I don’t think the last two games are going to define how everyone feels about the season,” he continued.
“We have to go out there, every game of football is an opportunity to go and try and win it. Of course, you’d rather win it than any other outcome.
“If the fans travel in numbers, even if there’s one fan there, five fans there, 2,000 fans there, our responsibility is to work as hard as we can to give them a team that has that effort and that desire.
“That’s been the plan for all of the games, whether we’ve fulfilled that plan, people can judge, but we’ll certainly try to do it on Saturday.”
‘Outstanding' Ricardo
Ricardo Pereira
With Ricardo Pereira, after eight years of service, confirming on Friday that Saturday’s game will be his last in a City shirt, Rowett also paid tribute to our captain.
“He’s been outstanding,” he said. “He’s a top professional. I’ve noticed that straight away, the way he looks after himself, the way he recovers from games.
“He’s always one of those where, maybe if the players have had a day off, he tends to come in and do all the right things.
“I don’t think you have a career like he’s had, for the longevity he’s had, at the level he’s [been at], unless you do that.
“He’s always been very open with the conversations I’ve had about what we need moving forward, some of the challenges. He’s always put himself out there.
“I think he’s got better and better actually with the games that I’ve been involved in. I think he’s performed really consistently.
“Whatever the future holds for him, I’m sure he’s got a long future in the game, however that looks. Whether that’s as a player, or one day as a coach, whatever that is, he’s an intelligent guy who’s experienced an awful lot of ups and downs at this place.
“He’s played over 200 appearances for the Club. Sometimes you have to celebrate that.
“It’s difficult at the moment, in the last two weeks, to really celebrate anything, to feel like you can champion those things.
“Now the fate is known, you can at least look back on someone like that and say what an absolute fantastic professional he’s been for the Football Club."
