The expansion of WSL1 to 14 teams for the 2026/27 season has seen the introduction of a new promotion/relegation play-off between the bottom-placed side in WSL1 and the third-placed team in WSL2 this season.
The winner of the play-off will compete in WSL1 next season and the defeated side will be in WSL2 for the 2026/27 campaign.
The fixture is set to take place at the WSL2 side’s home venue on Saturday 23 May (12:30pm BST kick-off) and will be broadcast live via Sky Sports and BBC Sport.
