Young Foxes midfielder Darren Motsi has featured for England U16s in Florida
The Academy prospect started two of the three Vertex Cup matches
He scored the first goal of a 5-1 win over Mexico, also playing against USA
The young Lions finished top of a four-team group, remaining unbeaten and collecting seven points from the three matches against the USA, Argentina and Mexico.

Beginning the mini tournament by earning a 1-1 draw with the hosts, a game Foxes Academy prospect Motsi started, the 2-1 scoreline against Argentina at Beyond Bancard Field three days later earned England’s first success, before backing it up with an emphatic result at FIU Soccer Stadium.
Mexico actually took the lead just five minutes into the contest, but Motsi, back in the starting XI, struck to equalise after 18 minutes, before the midfielder assisted Prince Otabor Osifo to put Barry Lewtas’ side into the lead. Three second-half goals completed the rout to round off a productive week in Florida.
