  • We head to Manchester City on Wednesday evening (7:45pm kick-off)
  • The Manager provided an update on his squad prior to the fixture
  • Ricardo Pereira could be back for the trip to Etihad Stadium, he revealed on Monday
  • It has been over two weeks since the Foxes last played in the Premier League
The defender came off the bench in the closing stages of our narrow defeat to Chelsea earlier this month, returning from a long-term hamstring injury, but suffered a setback which saw the Portuguese full-back miss the meeting with Manchester United on Filbert Way last time out.

“We obviously had Ricardo Pereira out for the Man United game,” the Manager explained to the media on Monday morning. “But he’s doing really well. Hopefully we can get him on the training pitch today and tomorrow and see if he’s ready for Wednesday.”
Young talents from within the Under-21s, meanwhile, have been added to the First Team training group during the past couple of weeks, allowing van Nistelrooy to assess a greater number of different players who could potentially force their way into the squad for the final stretch of the run-in.
“We carried on training because we had 14 or 15 players and fewer players on international duty, so we had a big group,” the Dutchman commented. “We added the young players who are doing really well and Jeremy Monga and Jake Evans, among others, who had a good week with the First Team.
“Everybody had a good week and after that some time off and then picked up again last Thursday.”
