Sunday’s fixture with Sheffield Wednesday sees Safe Standing areas in operation
Ticket checks will be in place to ensure the areas operate safely
Safe Standing introduced this season after extensive consultation with supporters
Safe Standing: Numbers & Consultation:
Safe Standing was introduced following extensive consultation with supporters via surveys, Your 90 Minutes sessions, Fans Advisory Board (FAB), Fans Consultative Committee (FCC) working groups and other feedback forums. This collaborative process helped shape not only whether Safe Standing should go ahead but also where it would be installed within the stadium. Over 5,000 rail‑seated (safe standing) spaces have been installed across King Power Stadium.
Ticket Checks in Safe Standing Blocks:
To ensure that safe standing operates safely and efficiently, only supporters with valid tickets for safe standing blocks will be permitted entry into these areas. A number of additional support staff will also be in place across the stadium to support with mobile tickets for supporters on turnstiles – all will be wearing pink bibs and easily identifiable.
Our stewarding team will carry out ticket checks at entry points into safe standing blocks, and may also conduct spot checks during the match, including at half-time. These checks are essential to ensure we meet safety obligations and provide the best possible matchday experience for all supporters.
Supporters in these areas must:
Have a valid ticket for the block they are entering.
Be ready to show their digital ticket (via mobile device) when requested by stewards.
We appreciate that this may cause some disruption, particularly at the start of the season, and we are grateful for your patience and cooperation as everyone becomes more familiar with the new arrangements.
Safe Standing safety:
Each supporter must stand in front of their own seat space (behind the safety rail).
Standing on stairways or in gangways is not permitted.
Please be respectful of stewards and fellow fans throughout the matchday.
These measures are in place to ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for everyone. As the season progresses, we expect these checks to become quicker and more routine – but the support our fans in getting this right from the outset is vital and we thank you in advance for your understanding.
