We hosted a 12-team football festival at LCFC Training Ground
Youngsters had the chance to showcase their talent in front of LCFC staff
Festival formed part of our commitment to creating clear pathways for aspiring players from all backgrounds
Rashid Abba also delivered a presentation about the development of South Asian football
Held on our indoor 4G surface, the event brought together 12 local clubs for an exciting day of football in a tournament setting.
Young players had the chance to showcase their talent in front of Leicester City staff, with several standout individuals selected to continue their journey through further training opportunities with us.
The festival formed part of our ongoing commitment to widening access to the game and creating clear pathways for aspiring players from all backgrounds.
Alongside the on-pitch action, families also benefited from an informative presentation delivered by Rashid Abba, a long-standing advocate of South Asian football and a respected figure within Leicester’s South Asian community.
Drawing on his extensive experience and passion for the game, Rashid spoke to parents about the development of South Asian football, the opportunities available to young players and the importance of continued support from families.
The session concluded with a Q&A activity, allowing parents to engage directly and gain valuable insight.
The event was another positive step in strengthening connections with local communities while identifying and nurturing promising young talent across our region.
We’d like to thank all participating clubs, players, parents and staff who helped make the festival a memorable occasion.
