LCFC Women host training session for Anstey Nomads Under-11s girls’ team

King Power Kitbags to be distributed to 229 grassroots teams across the county

Supported by First Team stars Janina Leitzig, Janice Cayman and Sophie Howard, the Foxes welcomed the Leicestershire-based club to Belvoir Drive, LCFC Women’s state-of-the-art training facility, for a memorable evening under the lights.

Led by Miquel and assisted by the players, the session provided the young Nomads team with a rare opportunity to train alongside professional athletes and take photos with their footballing role models.

The training concluded with the presentation of the first batch of King Power Kitbags, which will be distributed to grassroots clubs throughout Leicestershire, marking the beginning of an impactful initiative.

Speaking after the session, Amandine Miquel said: "As a Football Club, it’s important for us to set an example and spend time with grassroots teams. These moments are incredibly enjoyable, and we always enjoy connecting with the community.

"It’s important for young players to have fun and keep training at this age. When I was younger, we didn’t have opportunities like this, so it’s great to see the growth of grassroots football.”

Thanks to King Power’s commitment as LCFC Women Principal Partner, the initiative will see 229 grassroots teams across Leicestershire receive Kitbags filled with essential football items.

This support underlines King Power’s dedication to boosting the growth of grassroots football and strengthening the Club’s foundation within its local community.
