LCFC Women confirm loan of right-back Sarah Mayling from Aston Villa
The 28-year-old has played 10 consecutive seasons in the top-flight

The 28-year-old brings valuable experience to our ranks having regularly competed in the Barclays Women’s Super League across 10 consecutive seasons with both Aston Villa and Birmingham City.

In an interview with Foxes Hub, Sarah said: "The manager has shown belief in me and given me confidence, so it was a no-brainer to come and play for this Football Club.

"The facilities and the environment that is being created here all builds into it. Belvoir Drive is somewhere you'd want to work every day and will motivate us to be the best we can be."

Sarah arrives in Leicestershire with over 200 career appearances and strengthens our defensive unit ahead of the second half of the 2025/26 season.

Born in Sutton Coldfield, the right-back began her senior career with hometown club Villa in 2017 and first broke into their first-team aged 17, before linking up with Birmingham City in the WSL.

A productive four-year spell with the Blues followed, where she earned a regular place in the starting XI, before a return to Villa in 2021, where she continued to earn regular game-time in the top flight.

Sarah has now joined up with her teammates at Belvoir Drive and is available for selection ahead of our fixture with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 11 January.
