The full-back shared her emotions on the win after the full-time whistle

The opening day win against Sheffield United required an own goal to settle the scoreline, but the same fortune wasn’t needed at the weekend as LCFC Women were in full flow in front of goal.

Going 1-0 down early on, strikes from Paulina Nyström, Jess Ziu and Ale completed the turnaround before another goal for each side was added in the second half; our fourth being a Sarah Wilson own goal.

Netting a few goals of a similar nature in pre-season, our No.12 was delighted to start our home campaign with a win, and be able to celebrate, as a team, with the Blue Army.

“It’s really good to get the three points at home,” Ale stated. “The fans were great and I think we played some really football, especially in the first half.

“It was really nice to score as well. There’s been a few instances in pre-season [where I’ve scored], so when Pao (Nyström) passed me the ball, I saw no one was around me, so I went for it. I thought it was going to hit the post and stay out at first.

“It was nice to have different goalscorers and it was enjoyable to attack with the team today. The mood is great in the changing room, so hopefully we can keep this going.”
