The report provides an insight into the charity’s work over the past season, showcasing the people, programmes and partnerships that continue to make a difference in communities across the region.

Throughout 25/26, Leicester City in the Community continued to deliver against its four key impact areas: improving physical health, improving mental health and wellbeing, improving education and employability, and improving relationships and a sense of belonging.

11,504 people engaged
31 projects delivered
£1.7M+ raised through grant funding and paid opportunities
73 player engagements involving LCFC Men’s, Women’s, Development Squad, First Team Manager and Legends

64 per cent women and girls
46 per cent represent ethnically diverse communities
29 per cent physical or learning disability
73 per cent live in areas of high deprivation

Allison Tripney, Head of Leicester City in the Community said: “Our ambition is more than delivering programmes; it is about creating lasting change and ensuring our communities have opportunities, support and confidence to thrive. We have continued to evolve our values-based approach, strengthened partnerships and used the power of Leicester City Football Club to reach beneficiaries who need us most.

“We are incredibly proud of the impact our staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and partners have created together. As we move into the final year of our current strategy cycle, our focus remains clear: to listen to our communities, respond to their needs and make every opportunity count. We want to build on what works, challenge ourselves to do more and ensure that everyone who engages with Leicester City in the Community feels a genuine sense of belonging and knows that there is a place for them here.”

From supporting young people in schools and creating new opportunities through football, to helping people improve their health, develop new skills and build connections within their communities, the Annual Report highlights the breadth of work delivered by LCitC throughout the season.

One of the key developments during 25/26 was the launch of the Youth Employability Hub at King Power Stadium, delivered in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions and Leicester City Council.

The Hub supports young people aged 16-24 who are not currently in education, employment or training, providing one-to-one guidance, employability workshops, training opportunities and connections with employers to help them take their next steps.

The charity also continued to invest in the development of its own people through its Grow Your Own pathway, supporting participants and volunteers to progress into employment and leadership opportunities within LCitC.

During 25/26, 32 per cent of staff were former participants or volunteers, while 61 per cent of the staff team have lived experience of the challenges faced by the communities LCitC supports.

The impact of this approach can be seen through stories such as Cory’s journey, which follows his progression from a participant and Engagement Coach with Premier League Kicks to becoming a Project Coordinator at the Youth Employability Hub.

Stories behind the numbers

The Annual Report brings data to life through the stories of beneficiaries whose experiences demonstrate the difference that community programmes can make.

Premier League Inspires engaged 2,599 young people from 12 partner schools and one Alternative Provision setting providing targeted mentoring, personal development and employability opportunities, with 59 per cent of participants reporting improved confidence and self-esteem.

The report also celebrates Betsy’s journey through Urban Foxes, having progressed from trying skateboarding for the first time to competing in competitions and supporting younger girls within the programme. Her story demonstrates how creating access to new opportunities can help young people build confidence, resilience and new skills.

Elsewhere, LCitC’s Outdoor Learning programme, delivered in partnership with The National Forest, supported 321 participants, with 100 per cent of participating Early Years Foundation Stage staff reporting increased confidence in delivering outdoor learning.

The power of the badge

The connection between Leicester City Football Club and our communities remained at the heart of LCitC’s work throughout the season.

A total of 73 player engagements took place during 25/26, involving players from the Men’s and Women’s First Teams, Development Squad, First Team Manager and LCFC Legends.

These engagements ranged from beneficiaries connecting with legends from the Premier League title-winning team, to creative workshops with Jutta Rantala for young people, to Steve Walsh visiting our Mind Coffee Morning: creating memorable experiences for all!

As LCFC’s charity continues into the next stage of its strategy, the focus remains on working alongside communities and partners to create opportunities, tackle local challenges and deliver meaningful, long-term impact.

The 25/26 Annual Report provides an opportunity to reflect on achievements and, most importantly, to recognise the beneficiaries, staff, volunteers, partners and everyone connected to Leicester City in the Community who continue to make this work possible.
