What’s Your Story? is a player’s pilot project started by Sophie Howard and run by Leicester City in the Community, funded by the Professional Footballer’s Association through the Premier League Foundation, and delivered in partnership with LCFC Women.
The programme, centred on empowerment, is designed to give girls the space and confidence to explore who they are, where they come from and what matters to them. Through a series of creative workshops, participants are encouraged to share their own stories in ways that feel fun, expressive and meaningful.
The workshop at Sileby Juniors took an abstract and collaborative approach. Rather than working on individual pieces, the girls came together to create one large piece of artwork, depicting a colour run represented through their collective movement, creativity and energy across a white carpet.
Splashes of colour, footprints and patterns reflected the idea that everyone’s journey is different, yet all stories come together to create something powerful and shared.

The activity embodied the spirit of What’s Your Story?, celebrating individuality while reinforcing teamwork and a sense of belonging. Laughter, creativity and connection filled the space as the girls saw how their own contributions formed part of a much bigger picture.
This artwork, alongside pieces created throughout the programme, will be proudly displayed at this weekend’s LCFC Women’s fixture against Manchester United at King Power Stadium. The What’s Your Story? display will be located inside the concourse areas directly behind the Family Zone, giving supporters the chance to experience the creativity and voices of almost 200 young girls from across Leicester and Leicestershire.
The programme has been running since March last year, engaging participants from a wide range of communities and backgrounds, all united through creativity and football. Matchday visitors can also enjoy a lively family atmosphere, with food and drink available to purchase and plenty of activities to take part in around the stadium.
Kick-off is at 12pm GMT, so make sure to get down to the stadium early, soak up the atmosphere and celebrate the creativity, confidence and stories of the next generation.
