Debutant Lorenz Hutchinson found the net in a 4-1 win over Bulgaria for England Under-18s on Wednesday
The Leicester City striker was a second-half substitute, as Louis Page and Jeremy Monga started for the Young Lions
Divine Mukasa was involved as England’s Under-19s were beaten 2-0 by Serbia
Hugo De Lisle was a late substitute in a 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands for England's Under-17s
Among the first of our international cohort to see action this month, Hutchinson was a 70th-minute substitute for the Under-18s in a 4-1 success over Bulgaria at Campo da Pista Atletismo Gemos Crastro in Portugal.
Page and Monga, on the other hand, started for Ben Futcher’s side, who are competing in the UEFA U19 EURO 2027 First Qualifying Round this March.
Reigan Heskey opened the scoring for England, before a brace from Chizaram Ezenwata put the game beyond Bulgaria, despite Borislav Stoichkov's consolation.
There was still time, in the 91st minute, for Hutchinson to get in on the act, as the young Leicester City striker transferred his fine domestic exploits onto the international stage.
Spain are the next assignment for the Under-18s on Saturday (11am kick-off). Elsewhere, Mukasa – on loan with the Foxes from Manchester City this season – also started for the Under-19s group, who were beaten 2-0 by Serbia U19s, courtesy of goals from Mihajlo Cvetković and Bogdan Kostić.
Managed by Will Antwi, the U19s are also in Portugal, in the Elite Round Qualifiers for UEFA U19 EURO 2026. Mukasa played the first hour of the contest, with Poland next up at 11am on Saturday.
Only the team which finishes top of the group - which also includes Portugal - will progress to this summer’s U19 EURO Finals.
Hugo De Lisle, on the other hand, came on late for the England Under-17s in their 2-0 win over the Faroe Islands later on Wednesday. Ryan Kavuma McQueen's double and a later Harvey Higgins effort were enough for victory at St. George's Park, with Israel the next opponents on Saturday, a 2pm kick-off in Staffordshire.
