Steve Aquilina completes Prostate United challenge at LCFC Training Ground
He was joined for his final 5km run of the month by Andy King
Martí Cifuentes presented him with a signed LCFC shirt
Andy welcomed Steve to our training base in Seagrave for his 31st and final 5km run of the month to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
This year’s challenge - Steve’s third consecutive year taking part - saw him raise more than £3,500, bringing his total fundraising for the charity to over £13,000 since 2023.
Following his final run, Steve met our First Team Manager, Martí Cifuentes, who marked his efforts by presenting him with a signed Leicester City shirt.
Steve said: “Thankfully, I haven’t been directly affected by prostate cancer, but as I get older, I’ve realised how important it is for men to take their health seriously.
“Prostate United combines football with a great cause and seeing how many people have been affected has really helped to drive me on.
“To have the chance to do my final run with Andy and to be presented with a signed shirt by the Manager was just amazing.”
This year’s Prostate United campaign has raised a record £371,000 so far, with over 3,000 fundraisers running, walking or cycling every day throughout October to help fund lifesaving research.
Prostate United shines a spotlight on a disease that affects one in eight men in the UK - and is now the most common cancer in the UK. Every year over 63,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK.
Support Steve’s challenge alongside Prostate Cancer UK and help to save men’s lives this month by donating to his cause.
