We welcome Middlesbrough to King Power Stadium on Tuesday – our annual Remembrance Fixture – hoping to repair a run of form including three successive defeats.
Speaking to CITY, the official LCFC matchday magazine, Winks said Leicester must accept the reality of their current position and keep working to get positive results on the board.
“It’s not where we want to be,” he said. “We obviously have higher expectations than that. We want to be like where we were when we were here two years ago, but the reality of the situation is we are where we are.
“We haven’t hit the form we’d have liked, but we can only improve and get better. It’s not the most ideal situation for us to be in, but in the Championship, things can change quickly – hopefully we can hit some form.

"As a team, in the Championship, if you don’t commit 100 per cent throughout the game then you will get punished. The quality of opposition is obviously good as well so it’s important that we respect every opponent.
"I think we do that anyway but it’s about staying focused and making sure we’re ready to compete until the end."
One positive for Winks this term has been the midfield partnership he’s forged with Jordan James, on loan from French side Rennes, and he’s eager to build on that over the coming months.
“He’s a really good player, Jordan,” our No.8 added. “I remember playing against him a couple of years ago when he was at Birmingham and coming off the pitch thinking he was a really good player.
“He’s still young and he’s got a lot of ability that he can improve on. I think, so far since he’s joined us, he’s been a huge addition, helping massively with a couple of goals and his running in midfield. You can see that he’s improving a lot already.”
This game is our annual Remembrance Fixture. Please be in your seats early to take part as we pay our respects. Click HERE for more information about the matchday.
