Logan Briggs, fresh from scoring his first Northampton Town goal last weekend at Gillingham, was brought on in the 54th minute of the Cobblers' 1-0 victory over Newport County on Saturday.
That success leaves the Sky Bet League Two side 14th in the standings ahead of travelling to Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, a 3pm kick-off. That means he could come up against Michael Golding at the Croud Meadow, who made his Shrews debut last week in a 3-0 reverse at Rochdale.
It was another frustrating outing for Golding and his new team-mates on Saturday, however, as the City loanee came on with seven minutes to play during their 2-0 loss at Fleetwood Town. The Shrews are now 23rd in League Two, ahead of hosting Northampton at the weekend.
Elsewhere, Jake Evans started, playing just over an hour, and registering an assist, while Kirsten Otchere was an 85th-minute substitute during Cheltenham Town's 2-2 draw with Grimsby Town at EV Charger Points Stadium on Saturday.
It was a happier occasion for Cheltenham and Evans specifically on Tuesday, mind you, as the young Foxes striker netted a brace to help his adopted side to a 3-2 home success over York City in League Two. It's Crawley Town away next up on Saturday (12:30pm kick-off).
Stephy Mavididi and Oliver Skipp, on the other hand, also made Championship debuts for Watford and Charlton Athletic respectively, although it was a disappointing weekend for each. Mavididi was introduced in the 66th minute of Watford's 1-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion, while Skipp started Charlton's 4-0 loss at Stoke City.
Mavididi and the Hornets (17th in the table) next face Preston North End at Vicarage Road on Tuesday (7:45pm kick-off), as Skipp and the sixth-placed Addicks entertain Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday (7:45pm kick-off).
Finally, goalkeeper Stevie Bausor also made his Slough Town bow, on loan with the National League South side for one month. The Rebels, 23rd in the table, suffered a 2-1 home reverse to Braintree Town and next host Salisbury on Tuesday (7:45pm kick-off).
