LCFC Women face Liverpool this weekend in the WSL
Rick Passmoor provided a squad update ahead of the trip to St. Helens Stadium
Plenty of the squad were mentioned, with some returning from international duty with injury
Four weeks on from our last fixture, a loss away to Manchester City, we return to league duties with an all-important game against Liverpool, who sit just one spot above us in the Barclays Women's Super League.
Rick Passmoor spoke with the media on Friday afternoon, and shared an update on the fitness of the squad, confirming that there have been some new injuries within the squad over the international break.
"Sari Kees has come back from Belgium with an injury," the Manager announced. "She will not be in the squad. Liv Clark will be out for eight weeks after picking up an injury with Wales.
Swaby is one of a few that have returned from international duty with injury.
"Heather [Payne] will have three more weeks on the sideline. After the Man City game, Noemié [Mouchon] has a knee injury and has been working off grass for two weeks. She returned this week into a few sessions. She'll be available for the squad, but we'll decide in what capacity.
"Chantelle [Swaby] has been away and come back with some knocks, so she's working with medical team. It will be a last minute decision on availability and whether she can be in the squad.
"Emily [van Egmond] is the other side of the world with Australia, who picked up a brilliant win today, so she is also not with us for the weekend."
With the squad set to look different since the last time we took the field, the Manager went on to talk about the progress of our longer term injuries, and which faces could be returning to the squad soon.
Denny Draper is inching closer to First Team involvement.
"Good news is Denny Draper has been back on the field this week," Passmoor stated, looking at the positives. "She'll need a mini pre-season with the team, you're talking four weeks with the team before getting involved with the team.
"Jani [Leitzig] has been engaging in training and will be involved this weekend. Emma has been out, but she's been a mature professional with her rehab and recovery, so we're welcoming her back into the squad this weekend."
