Chelsea were the victors over LCFC Women on Wednesday evening
The hosts took all three points in the Barclays Women’s Super League match
Yuka Momiki scored a second half goal at Kingsmeadow
The Japanese international reacted to the defeat in London
This season's two league matches against Chelsea have been much closer contests compared to previous years, and although we were not able to recreate December’s draw, there were positives to take for LCFC Women. Following the game, Momiki shared her frustrations on the loss at Kingsmeadow but knows the rest of the season will look promising, if the players can keep up the same level of performances. “In 90 minutes, we created a lot of chances,” our No.29 stated. “We are disappointed about losing the game, but I think we need to maintain this level and intensity and bring it into the next game.
Putting in maximum effort against the league leaders.
“I think that we are getting better and better, after the beginning of the season. The result is not what we wanted but we are getting better for sure.”
The game wasn’t without a bit of magic from the midfield magician, who lobbed Hannah Hampton with a delightful chip, after being played in by Asmita Ale. “I saw the goalkeeper was coming out a little bit and I don’t think anyone thought I was going to chip it so that’s why I went for it,” Momiki explained.
“I sensed it today, that if I got the right connection, it would go in.”
