Organised by Leicester City in the Community, the Premier League Primary Stars girls-only event in Seagrave celebrated the #LetGirlsPlay initiative, which aims to inspire communities to want to help make change, unlocking equal opportunities for girls to participate in football.
Through our charitable arm, we’ve helped more than 250 local girls to access football as part of #LetGirlsPlay, supporting them to play and enjoy the game.
The event continued our support of International Women’s Day, with LCFC Women defender Sophie Howard and Academy graduates Nelly Las and Amya Hammond-McLean taking part in a special celebration at King Power Stadium on Monday night.
The trio all spoke at the panel event ahead of International Women's Day.

The trio led a players’ panel on Filbert Way, discussing their journeys in football at an event that brought together key organisations and individuals to celebrate some of those who have played a role in the growth of the women’s game at Leicester City.
Furthermore, Academy duo Emmie Birks and Poppy Groves also attended a conference aimed at inspiring young students and encouraging female participation in football.
The Barclays Go Lead Conference, held at The Cedars Academy, provided an opportunity for more than 80 students to engage in activities and find out more about the varied roles within football.
