LCFC Women beat Southampton 4-3 on penalties in the Subway Players Cup on Sunday
Paulina Nyström scored a late equaliser to send the game to spot-kicks
The Manager shares his verdict on the game and its importance going forward

Substitute Paulina Nyström's late equaliser, set up by Missy Goodwin, rescued a point for LCFC Women at Silverlake Stadium last weekend, before a 4-3 win on penalties confirmed a second point to add to our tally in the cup competition.

Proud of his team's resolve to find a way back into the game after Libbi McInnes' opener and score late against the Saints for the second week in a row, Passmoor believes it shows the positive direction in which this team is going.

"Credit to the whole squad to come down today, after playing them last week and to get the result," our Manager explained. "I think we were full value within the 97 minutes to be winners.

"But we've scored in the final minutes once more, which shows our resilience and togetherness and then we go onto the shootout and win that.

"So lots of positives and once more we need to keep growing and deliver what we want to do on a consistent basis."

Celebrating a win in the shootout.

The Foxes have clocked up a lot of miles over the last month and Passmoor was delighted to see everyone be able to celebrate a win away from home, especially the fans who have backed us in full voice each matchday.

"It's for everyone, it's so good to get a win," he added. "It's important for the players, the staff behind the scenes, but also the fans who go home and away. Again today, we've had fans travel down and we recognise the effort that they put in.

"We need them to stay firm with us, because it's going to be a little journey, but we will be successful in the longer term."
