There was a late flurry of action on Monday evening in Seagrave as a goal apiece meant the points were shared in PL2 action.
Coming from behind to equalise in the final minutes, the coach believes it was important to get something from the game, even though he believes that Leicester could've deserved more.
"I just said to the guys in there, if you can't win a game, don't lose it," McSweeney stated. "We showed resilience to come back after a difficult goal, which was disappointing.
"We didn't lock down the counter-attacking moments but after that, the lads stepped it up and deserved something. It was total dominance in terms of possession and shots on goal.

"As I've said in previous interviews, we've done well with some great play, building up, but it's sometimes that final bit in their defensive area that we need to build on.
"But as I said, it's a great effort from the lads to come back and get something from their efforts against a side who have been doing well. There's loads of positives to take."
First Team goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk was involved in this week's draw against the Toffees and McSweeney spoke about the importance to have these senior members in the squad from time-to-time.
The coach added: "It's always good when first team players drop in, it gives a boost to our guys that the bridge to the first team is within their reach.
"Jakub is a great person and professional who helps the team and with organisation. And it was great from Alfie [Fisken] to come back after some time away injured and it was nice to reward him. He's been working hard and I thought he was excellent tonight. He was a threat all evening and it was great to give him a chance.

He hopes to keep individuals from the Under-21s within contention for selection in the senior squad, following on Henry Cartwright's matchday inclusion against Newcastle United by Ruud van Nistelrooy.
"It's so great to see young lads in the and around the First Team," he explained. "So early on in the new Manager's regime to have that kind of Academy input into the First Team selection is great."
"I haven't had much conversation with him yet, but of course we know he's busy so our job is to keep producing players that can fulfil his needs and I'm sure I'll be able to sit down with him soon and maybe twist his arm to get some of the younger lads involved.
"We've had a really strong first half of the season in terms of bringing the average age of the squad down from previous years and the young talent we have is unquestionably there. They've responded well to the challenges and now it's about pushing on and maximising their potential."
