A late goal from Omari Benjamin looked to be the difference between the two sides at LCFC Training Ground, before Harvey Godsmark-Ford levelled matters in the final minute of normal time, ensuring the young Foxes ended 2024 unbeaten in three matches.
Goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk made his first appearance of the season having recovered from injury, and it looked as though the Polish shot-stopper would keep a clean sheet on his return, until the 83rd minute, when Harrison Armstrong set up Benjamin for the opener, arrowing the ball into the bottom corner from 25 yards out. A positive end to 2024 for the Foxes youngsters.
The equaliser arrived courtesy of a Logan Briggs corner, finding Godsmark-Ford in the middle to head home, earning a deserved draw for City on home turf, who rise to 14th in the standings, just one point behind Everton.
Wrapping up the schedule for the calendar year, Crystal Palace are scheduled to visit LCFC Training Ground on Friday 10 January (7pm kick-off) as PL2 resumes after the festive break.
