Madison Haley, Maelys Npomé, Marisa Olislagers and Kiko Seike all found the net in a home win at Amex Stadium, as the Foxes remain ninth in the Barclays Women's Super League, four above bottom-placed Liverpool.
Rick Passmoor made three changes to the side that picked up a late point against West Ham United, with Celeste Boureille, Jutta Rantala and last weekend's goalscorer, O'Brien, coming back into the XI.
Change of momentum
Leicester started the strongest of both sides.
Leicester started the strongest of both sides.
We started brightly at Amex Stadium, utilising the high wingbacks to our advantage, as we created a number of chances early on - most notably through Hannah Cain.
The forward broke down the right wing and found Rantala, who had a left footed volley wound up, but the effort, while testing, was well saved by the Brighton 'keeper.
Just before the half hour mark, the momentum changed in favour of the home side, who took the lead through Haley - the American found space in the box before clipping the ball past the onrushing Janina Leitzig.
A quick restart from the Seagulls
Brighton doubled their lead shortly after the restart.
Brighton doubled their lead shortly after the restart.
Down at the break, we were still in the contest when we resumed play in Sussex, but it was the hosts who found the next goal of the game.
Capitalising on a defensive mistake, it was defender Mpomé who found herself in a forward position to fire low and hard past Leitzig from just inside the City penalty area.
The goal gave Brighton confidence as the second half played out, as they got their third win of the term, taking them up to 11 points; five above City.
O'Brien made it two in two

O'Brien, who had worked relentlessly all afternoon in Brighton, got herself on the scoresheet in the second half, having found the net seven days ago against West Ham United.
An initial shot from Rantala was blocked, but as the Finnish forward nodded the ball into the box, which caught the Brighton defender off-guard, and O'Brien was left unmarked to score from close range.
Pushing hard for the equaliser, the Seagulls regained their two-goal advantage late on when Olislagers scored with an impressive curling effort, before Seike's injury-time goal settled the scoreline on the south coast.
