Sam Tierney netted her first Leicester goal of the season, but that strike from our most-capped player of all time couldn't help us complete the comeback as we fell to defeat at the weekend.
Rick Passmoor made nine changes to the side that won out against Ipswich Town in the Subway Women's League Cup midweek, with Janina Leitzig, Olivia McLoughlin, Hannah Cain and Janice Cayman, who captained the side, coming back into the XI.
Spurs score twice
We fell to defeat on Sunday against Spurs.
The first 10 minutes of the action saw nothing but City possession, but a quick-fire brace from Olivia Holdt gave the visitors an early advantage on Filbert Way.
The first goal was a scramble inside the Foxes' penalty box, which after failing to deal with, allowed the chance for Holdt to finish from close range, taking a deflection on its way in.
The second goal needed no luck for the Danish winger, who latched onto a through ball behind Cayman and calmly chipped the ball over the onrushing Leitzig.
Tierney pulls one back
Tierney netted late on in the first half.
Our first half efforts deserved a goal, coming close on a number of occasions, most notably when Asmita Ale ran through on goal and fired into the chest of former Leicester 'keeper Lize Kop.
The deficit was halved on the brink of half-time when Sam Tierney smashed the ball into the roof of the net from close range, arriving late into the box to score at the back post.
Narrow defeat for the Foxes
Leicester battled hard throughout the second half at King Power Stadium, applying constant pressure to the Spurs defence, who felt camped in their own third for the majority of the 90, but did well to withstand the barrage.
A third loss of the WSL season means we are eighth in the top flight with three points, as we look ahead to an immediate return to winning ways at home, with the visit of Everton next Sunday for an 11:55am BST kick-off.
