For 80 minutes, we kept one of the country’s elite at bay, thanks to resilient defending and goalkeeping heroics from Katie Keane.

Praising his team for their efforts, the Manager believes you could see key parts of the philosophy in play on Wednesday night against the Lionesses.

“I thought we were absolutely fantastic tonight, in terms of our desire and key pillars of our gameplan, it was there in abundance,” Passmoor stated.

“In a three-game week, with 14 fit senior players, you’ve got to look after them, and coming up against one of the biggest spenders in the WSL, with World Cup winners on the bench, you have to be aware of that.

Praising his team for their efforts.

“For a long time, we’ve kept it 0-0 and the players were top drawer tonight.”

Up next is an away WSL2 fixture against Newcastle, and the Manager is hoping we can take the positives from midweek to the North East with us on Sunday afternoon.

Passmoor added: “You’ve got to keep competitive and the players want to be going into games, wanting to win them, but the main thing for us was to put a good showing of ourselves, and come off the pitch without any more injuries.

“We’ve got a long trip up to Newcastle and we know the fanbase will be behind us so we’re looking forward to getting up there and putting in another performance to be proud of.”
