Sammy Braybrooke assessed our emphatic midweek victory over Bromley
The midfielder assisted three of the four goals at Copperjax Community Stadium
He wants to carry on the form which has seen us collect back-to-back wins
Luton Town are our next Sky Bet League One opponents on Saturday lunchtime
It’s Luton Town up next on Saturday for the Foxes with our trip to Kenilworth Road coming off the back of successive Sky Bet League One wins over Doncaster Rovers and Bromley. We’ll take on Jack Wilshere’s Hatters in a 12:30pm BST kick-off, four days on from notching up three points at Copperjax Community Stadium, courtesy of goals from Will Alves, John Lundstram, Luke Thomas and Emil Riis, three of which came during a blistering first half display from the visiting Foxes.
“It’s a pretty near-perfect evening for us, I think,” Academy graduate Braybrooke assessed following full-time in south east London. “Obviously getting the lead early is what we want.
“We came out thick and fast and coming away with a 4-0 win, a clean sheet, we’re all buzzing with that.”
Braybrooke set up three of those goals and was later named our Player of the Match, as voted for by the Foxes fans, though he feels improvement is still required after not managing to get on the scoresheet himself.
“The coaches have been telling me to get my numbers up, so it’s been on my mind a bit,” the City midfielder admitted. “I was disappointed not to come away with a goal as well, but I’m delighted to get three assists. I want to help the team as much as I can and it was nice to set up Will.”
Sitting 10th in the third tier standings heading into the weekend’s fixtures, it’s all about keeping that consistency of performances and results in Braybrooke’s eyes, ahead of coming up against another side who have had a mixed start to the season.
The 22-year-old added: “We want to start to gain that momentum and obviously winning is the best way to do that.
“We’ve got two solid wins under our belt, building on from Doncaster and now we look forward to Saturday and hopefully we can kick on and go on a little run here.”
