  • We were beaten 2-0 by Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday
  • The Foxes remain 19th in the table following defeat at King Power Stadium
  • Ruud van Nistelrooy assessed a disappointing afternoon for his side
An afternoon to forget at King Power Stadium, second half goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Adama condemned City to a seventh straight Premier League reverse, as the Foxes failed to capitalise on early opportunities before falling short of the standards van Nistelrooy wants to set.
“Not only the result, it was also the performance that is difficult to live with,” the Manager said post-match on Saturday. “In all aspects of the game, we didn’t perform as we can, we were weak and deserved to be beaten by a better Fulham team.
City were unable to find the net for the fourth successive home league fixture.

“We started well, we created some danger in the penalty area early on. We needed some luck with the second and third ball there, but I think it’s the worst performance since I’ve been here. There were good performances there but in aspects of the game we didn’t deliver.”
Although in the balance at half-time, the game soon drifted away from us in the second period. It took the visitors just three minutes to break the deadlock and assume control, with Leicester unable to find a route back.
The Dutchman explained: “You [look to] come back out in the second half and continue, but the first goal sums up that we weren’t good enough today. If you allow these goals to go in, it becomes a tough afternoon again.”
Kristiansen came close in the first half.

Lifting the players will not be an easy task, van Nistelrooy admitted, but with over a week until we visit Tottenham Hotspur in our next league fixture, he believes confidence can be reinstalled in the squad.
"Today there is disappointment, frustration and an awareness that it wasn’t good enough,” the 48-year-old added. “That’s difficult and we have to think about this and come back and start again with a different approach on how to approach things. There’s time to do that.
“It’s important to work on things that are necessary to work on and the most important thing with the team is that we as coaches move forward in a direction where we are going to give ourselves a chance of results and staying in this league, because today’s performance wasn’t enough to do that.”
