While the Foxes dominated for the majority of their encounter with the Gunners at King Power Stadium last weekend, the City manager was still able to monitor a period in the game in which they had to defend.

Rodgers says his side will analyse that spell ahead of their clashes with Premier League leaders Manchester City and top-four challengers Chelsea.

“I wanted to come in and finish as high as we possibly could,” said Rodgers. “I said to the players that we really need to focus on the performance [against Arsenal], and don’t worry about winning, losing or drawing – just work on how we play.

Goals: Leicester City 3 Arsenal 0

Leicester City were in fearsome form as they secured a fantastic 3-0 victory over Arsenal at King Power Stadium.

“This is an important period for us to bed in all the concepts. Everything I would want for the team, we were good at.

“There was a spell in the second half where we respected Arsenal with their players and quality and they had a little bit of the ball, even with 10 men.

“There are elements in that period that we can get better in managing it. We’ll finish as high as we can.”

During City’s penultimate home fixture of the campaign, Rodgers was pleased to see the balance between youth and experience on display against one of England’s elite outfits.

“I think we had five players 22 and under, which is nice,” added Rodgers. “The beauty with the squad is they’re very coachable and they’re very hungry to improve.
