- The LCFC Community Trust today (Thursday) relaunches as Leicester City in the Community, with a renewed determination to enhance lives in Leicestershire
- LCitC will work tirelessly to bring about positive change in the region across three key themes: Education, Community and Health and Wellbeing
- A county-wide network of community hubs will be established, with the first set to be situated at King Power Stadium

Formerly known as the LCFC Community Trust, Leicester City in the Community will work in close partnership with valued local partners to fulfil an ambitious business model which has been carefully tailored with Leicester’s community in mind.

In addition, LCitC has committed to establish a county-wide network of community hubs, with the first being based at King Power Stadium.

Each of the hubs will be situated in the heart of the localities they serve.

The plan will drive LCitC’s core value of Engage, Inspire and Empower, which will be embedded through Togetherness, Respect and Pride.

To achieve set goals, LCitC will work around three fundamental themes: Education, Community and Health and Wellbeing, with Football Development and Inclusive practice running throughout.

Mike Kapur OBE, Chair of Trustees at LCitC, said: “I’m so proud to be Chair of Trustees at Leicester City in the Community and very much look forward to continue seeing this charity grow with our Board’s continued support. The relaunch gives us an opportunity to tell the next chapter of our story and highlight the importance of the work of Leicester City Football Club within our communities.”

Allison Tripney, Head of Community at LCitC, added: “We’re so excited to be rebranding as Leicester City in the Community, and this decision was made to incorporate our new strategy and business plan, but more importantly our new way of working.

“This way of working will be in partnerships, be that with schools, voluntary and community sector organisations and those who wish to work with us to help further connect LCFC to its communities and make a real difference to the people we work with.”
