Junior Fox Members Enjoy Football Camp With Walsh & Piper
- Steve Walsh, Matt Piper and Filbert Fox stage coaching sessions for Junior Fox Members and Season Ticket Holders in Leicester
- The Foxes favourites were there at Goals for a special half-term event
- Junior Fox Memberships provide access to a host of benefits, including priority booking on fantastic events
The relaxed coaching sessions were staged at Goals on the city's outskirts on Tuesday, a members-only event designed to reward some of the Club's youngest supporters during the school break.
Walsh is one of Leicester's all-time most iconic captains, winning two promotions and League Cups at the Club, while Piper was an Academy graduate who scored the last-ever goal at Filbert Street.
In the company of two men who have their names written into Foxes folklore forever, the participants received playing tips from the two former pros, alongside Leicester City in the Community coaches.
Football Fun For Junior Foxes With Walsh, Piper & Filbert!
Junior Fox Members were invited to spend the afternoon playing football with Leicester City legends Steve Walsh and Matt Piper, plus Filbert Fox, this half-term.
Naturally, Filbert Fox was a popular figure during the proceedings and, alongside Walsh and Piper, handed out commemorative medals to congratulate them for their achievements during the occasion.
"This is what it’s all about, especially at young ages," Piper told LCFC TV. "It’s not so much about putting the technical coaching in, it’s more making sure that they enjoy football.
"I’ve been doing a couple of drills that I used to do back in the schools, when I was coaching in the schools. A couple of fun drills… one’s called Fastest Shot in the West.
"It sounds a bit crazy, but when you create an atmosphere like that out on the coaching pitch, it’s what brings the most enjoyment."
There’s a lot of great kids out there, really respectful as well, and they really listened to what we were saying, so it’s gone really well. They're the future.

For Walsh, meanwhile, the chance to spend quality time with the Club's youngest fans was a special one and the former centre-back explained their importance to Leicester City.
"Muzzy [Izzet] and I used to go to schools and coach these young kids, but at a holiday camp like this, it’s nice to learn something, but mainly the kids are just having fun and meeting new friends," he said.
"I think everyone has been brilliant. There’s a lot of great kids out there, really respectful as well, and they really listened to what we were saying, so it’s gone really well. They're the future."
