In the present day, the Foxes hold a five-point lead over the Blades in the Premier League with three games of the 2019/20 campaign still to be played this summer.

Without a win in four games, Leicester City entertained Neil Warnock's Sheffield United on Filbert Way in a pulsating second-tier encounter, ending in a valuable three points for the Foxes.

In the summer, Levein secured the services of players including Momo Sylla and Rab Douglas from Celtic, while Nils-Eric Johansson and Iain Hume joined from Blackburn Rovers and Tranmere Rovers respectively.

However, the new-look Foxes squad had struggled to live up to the Scotsman's ambitions and were quickly becoming embroiled in a battle to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Ghanian striker Elvis Hammond hits the Foxes' third goal of the game.

Despite facing a side challenging for promotion, City were in hot form on 26 November and raced into a two-goal early lead, with Iain Hume and then loan star Ryan Smith netting for the hosts.

Steven Kabba hit back for the Blades in the second period, but Leicester continued to attack and were 4-1 ahead by the 89th minute with Elvis Hammond scoring before Hume added his second late on.

There was still time for the visitors to hit back with a consolation goal through Danny Webber in added time, but the Foxes had done enough to secure a morale-boosting 4-2 triumph.

A unique celebration from Iain Hume after scoring his second and Leicester's fourth goal of the night.

"Elvis Hammond really clicked with Iain Hume and that partnership really benefited the whole team," Levein said at full-time. "We have been playing like that in spells but without scoring goals.

"But the goals made all the difference. I don't think we have been 2-0 up in a game before but this one you could see how much confidence it gave us."
