Leicester City To Be Represented At ePremier League Finals!

Leicester City will be represented at this month’s Online Finals of the 2019/20 ePremier League tournament.

- ePremier League 2019/20 Online Finals start this week
- Akima Byron and Jordan Withers to represent the Foxes
- The ePL is a competitive gaming tournament involving the Premier League and Electronic Arts

Gamers Jordan Withers and Akima Byron were victorious at LCFC’s ePremierLeague FIFA 20 Play-Off at King Power Stadium earlier this year, with Akima crowned PS4 champion and Jordan the winner of the Xbox tournament.

They will now represent the Club in the preliminary stage of the national Online Finals this week, as the PS4 round takes place from midday to 8pm on Thursday 13 August and Xbox at the same time on Friday 14 August.

This year’s Online Finals will feature all 20 Premier League clubs and consist of three tournament stages - a dual format Group Stage featuring 20 players (per platform), a single-elimination Play-Off bracket with the top eight players (per platform) from the Group Stage, and the Cross-Platform Grand Final that pits the top player from each platform against each other for the prestigious ePremier League 2019/2020 crown.

The ePremier League (ePL) is a competitive gaming tournament involving the Premier League and Electronic Arts.

The first ePL tournament was held in 2019. It was open to UK players of FIFA 20 aged 16 and over who competed for three months from January 2019, firstly through online qualification, then live club Play-Offs and finally a live ePL Final in London in March 2019.

It was available to players on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Tekkz was crowned the overall winner of the first ePremier League event, representing Liverpool.

In May 2020, Leicester City first team star James Maddison was crowned the ePL Invitational Champion when he beat Sheffield United’s John Egan 5-1 in the grand final.

Maddison beat Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson, Crystal Palace’s Max Meyer, Southampton’s Michael Obafemi, and Aston Villa’s Keinan Davis on his way to the showpiece.
