- LCFC Women announce Vitality as Official Wellness Partner
- The health and life insurance and investment company has partnered with the Club ahead of the 2020/21 FA Women’s Championship
- LCFC Women have recently launched a professional team to develop women’s football in the county
The partnership will see Vitality’s brand feature on the Club’s digital channels, as well as matchday branding, during the FA Women’s Championship campaign.
Working with the Club, Vitality will bring their core purpose - to make people healthier and to enhance and protect their lives - to fans and supporters through a range of creative campaigns that promote health and wellbeing, and collaborate with the Club and its other partners, to increase the visibility of women’s sport and inspire more girls and women to try football, other sport and physical activity.
Last month, Leicester City reaffirmed its commitment to the development of the women’s game in Leicestershire by launching a professional team, with the move forming part of a long-term strategy to enhance women’s football in the county.
Following King Power International’s completion of the purchase of LCWFC, the team will now turn professional and join the Football Club’s senior men, Under-23s and Under-18s among the core teams of the Club’s football operation.
Russ Fraser, Head of Women’s Football at Leicester City, said: “We’re so pleased that Vitality will be supporting us during the 2020/21 season as we begin a really exciting period for the Club.
“Vitality are committed to developing women’s football and sport and we look forward to working with them this year.”
Harj Hir, Head of Partnerships at Leicester City, said: “It’s a fantastic time to be a part of LCFC Women right now and the enthusiasm around the Club for the FA Women’s Championship season is great to see.
“Having a partner like Vitality on board will really help to boost the profile of LCFC Women and continue the development of women’s football in the area.”
Vitality has worked with Leicester City’s senior men’s team over the past two years as its Official Wellness Partner and this extension to the women’s team further reinforces their support of the Club and women’s sport.
Neville Koopowitz, CEO of Vitality, said: “It’s a really exciting time for Leicester City, and having been involved with the Club for the past few years, we are pleased to be able to expand our partnership to include the women’s team.
“This development reflects our commitment to women’s sport and to addressing the significant gap that exists in how physically active men and women are. We look forward to working with the Club to raise the visibility of the women’s game and inspire many more women and girls to play football, get active and live healthier lives.”
