Following Millie Farrow's second-minute opener for City, the Blades went 2-1 ahead, through a brace from Mel Johnson, before Natasha Flint hit an 89th-minute penalty for the visitors.

Allen, a new signing from Women's Super League side Reading in the summer, says there are certainly positives to take from the encounter at Proact Stadium, but also areas which require work.

"It was disappointing," she told LCFC TV at full-time. "I think we probably got what we deserved. You know, I think we were lucky to probably get that in the end. It wasn't our best game.

Allen: We Got What We Deserved

Midfielder Remi Allen catches up with LCFC TV following a 2-2 draw for LCFC Women at Sheffield United on Sunday.

"I think we were really poor on the ball, really poor off the ball. We started brightly. We had a few spells, but throughout the game, I think, generally, we got what we deserved.

"Credit to them. To go a goal down so early, then come and fight back like... they were gritty, they were nasty and they were clinical.

"So, yes, you've got to give credit to them, but obviously, we've got to look at ourselves and what we can do better."

Allen was pleased with the way the Foxes remained resolute in their pursuit of a late leveller in Chesterfield and backed her team-mates to gel quickly after 13 new faces arrived this summer.

"I think if there's any positives to take out today, it's that," she continued. "You know, we didn't give up, we kept fighting.

Natasha Flint celebrates sealing a point for the Foxes late on in Chesterfield.

"Char (Charlie Devlin); a great run, obviously got brought down, and, Tash, a great finish, so that's definitely a positive.

I think it takes time and I think that's what we're finding out that way. We've got a lot of new players, a lot of different styles trying to come together.

"I think we've got to do some more work on the training pitch and I'm hoping the more time we spend together, the more games we have, we'll be a little bit more united.

"You'll probably be able to see connections a little bit better. I just think that's a process."
