The Foxes - who last beat the Rams 4-1 at Holmes Park in November 2019 - will continue their 2020/21 campaign against a side who have gathered four points from their opening three games.
Leicester, meanwhile, opened the new season with an assured 2-0 success at Manchester United, but will be looking to recover after defeats by Everton and Blackburn Rovers.
From 6:45pm on Friday, LCFC TV's live coverage begins in Loughborough, with presenter and commentator Nick Walsh set to be joined by former Foxes centre-back Sean St Ledger.
