City's winger, who has progressed through England's Under-18s, Under-20s and Under-21s age groups in recent years, made his senior bow as a substitute in the 76th minute in the capital.

The Three Lions were already 3-0 up - following goals by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Conor Coady and Danny Ings - by the time Barnes entered the fray.

Operating on the left of England's attack, as he is regularly deployed for the Foxes, Barnes was typically sharp and positive with the ball as the hosts saw out a comfortable friendly victory.
