City's Youngsters Taste Defeat at Southampton

Leicester City's Under-18s were defeated by Southampton in Premier League U18 at Staplewood Training Ground on Saturday afternoon.

- Leicester City's Under-18s lost 8-2 away at Southampton in Premier League U18
- Ethan Fitzhugh and Will Russ found the net for the Foxes
- City face Crystal Palace at Crystal Palace Training Ground on Saturday (12pm)

Sam Bellis opened the scoring for the home side after 16 minutes, before Kazeem Olaigbe doubled the Saints' advantage six minutes later.

Goran Babic scored the third soon after and Bellis netted his second ahead of the break.

In stoppage time at the end of the first-half, Jack Turner got on the scoresheet, to give the hosts a comfortable lead at the interval.

Diamond Edwards added a sixth for Southampton not long into the second period and Bellis then completed his hat-trick on 56 minutes.

City scored a consolation 10 minutes later, with Ethan Fitzhugh finding the net and Welsh forward Will Russ reduced the deficit further on 68 minutes.

But there was an eighth for Southampton when Olaigbe netted his second, to complete the scoring.

The Foxes are next in league action away to Crystal Palace on Saturday 24 October (12pm kick-off).
